First established at Guebwiller (France) in 1809 , the " Manufacture de Draps J. Althoffer & cie" moved to Rimbach Zell (France) in 1907 in order to benefit from its water for motive power. Under the increasing request of local textile machines manufacturers, J. Althoffer & cie. turned their production to fabrics and felts for technical applications. Later J. Althoffer & cie. participated to the design of technical textiles for bakery machines.
In Guebwiller, a street giving on the Saint-Léger Place	Realizing the emerging demand of air pollution control and wet filtration, since the 70's, J. Althoffer & cie has been innovating into filter media construction. Firstly woven and then needle-punched, the filter media of J. Althoffer & cie contribute to the reduction of particle emissions of flue gases and to the recovery of solids in liquids. This range of products assist users to abate the operating charges of their filter plants.
Since October 2000, J. Althoffer & cie. SA produce tecnical textiles for : Dust collection and liquid filtration; Bakery machines; Textiles finishing machines; Belting, coating and composites; Specific applications and individual tailored products.
